2005 Season Round-Up

The Mariners adult team finished in fourth place overall in the 2005 Irish Baseball League, going 8-0 in the first half, but finishing the second-half play-off with a disappointing 1-5 record.

The North Side won the 2005 Murray Cup in September, beating the South Side 12-4.

At Corkagh Park in June, the Mariners U12 team lost 6-4 to the Kerry Green Sox, and beat the Clondalkin Cardinals 10-5.

At the Annual Barbecue in July, teens competed for the O’Farrell Cup in the U16 North-South Derby, with the South Side winning 9-6.

Also in July, the Mariners Under 16s travelled to rural Cork to take on the new Cork Druids club, going away with both an undefeated record and a bunch of new baseball friends.

In the local leagues, there were some fiercely competitive games played at both youth levels, but the leagues were hampered by too many walkovers.
